Authentic Hawaiian POKE through a sushi handroll experience
Welcome to our poke experience
Come join us on ThuRSDAy through Saturday evenings from 4pm to 9pm at Love Art Sushi in Cambridge! (1 Canal Park)
The Lanikai sushi handroll project combines sushi hand rolls topped with authentic poke offerings straight from the islands. From the imported Aloha brand shoyu to inamona (kakui nut) and ogo (seaweed) for our limu poke, we are going the extra mile to give you a bite of paradise right here in the Boston area.
Our tuna may vary from time to time depending on what is seasonably available. Sometimes it will be bluefin, other times it may be big eye or yellowfin. We work with multiple purveyors and fishermen daily to procure the freshest fish New England has to offer.
About
Co-chefs, Partners, Husband and Wife Ronald Liu and Jessica Chiep married at Waimea Valley located in the North Shore of Oahu but over a decade before that, their first ever destination in Hawaii was Lanikai Beach. Since then, the couple frequently return to the islands to visit family, including their Japanese Hawaiian born goddaughter and close friends in the armed services.
Lanikai, meaning “heavenly sea” culminates the harmony of balance between nature and spirituality. Honoring the cultural integrity of Hawaii means not just simply imitating flavor but paying homage using what the Hawaiian land and sea has to offer. In a real world context, supporting the craftsmen, artisans, fishermen, and farmers economically are just as important if not more than simply how something tastes.
